Really really long 2 days.. 26th & 27th June.

I was on duty both days due to the Red Cross Blood Drive.

It took place at Agora Hall 1 in Republic Polytechnic.

Both days, we were faced with large crowds,

impatient donors and alot of problems.

Logistics suffered the most, because the

Blood Drive Official's decided to change the

layout to their improved version.

Jaslyn and me spend both days,

moving tens and tens of chairs.

MORE CHAIRS..
LESS CHAIRS..

lol.. so tired.. really tired..

We were under staffed,

both us Red Cross helpers,

as well as the nurses and doctors

who were part of the Offical blood drive.

CONGRATS TO EVERYONE!!!

We managed to collect 216 bags of blood!

We may be short by our target of 220 but..

WE DID A GREAT JOB!!

I decided to donate blood on the first day too..

Basically the whole process is like this:

1) Firstly, proceed to Registration Counter,

to collect your particulars form to fill up.

2) After completing the form, queue up,

to meet the Admin staff to complete the form.

3) Proceed to queue to see the doctor after

that. The doctor will check your form,

blood pressure and weight.

He will also check if u are feeling well.

4) Proceed to Lab to give them a dab of

your blood. Basically they prick your finger

just to take a small blood sample.

This is to check the iron levels in your blood.

5) Lastly queue to donate blood. The process

is rather simple. They give u your donor card,

and some stuff to read. Then they clean

your arm, inject u with a painkiller.

That hurts alot.. but in seconds,

you feel your hand going numb.

Then the big needle (like a straw) is

inserted into your vein. Blood flows out.

6) After donating, rest for 10 min and

proceed to the last station (the rest area),

for free refreshments, drinks and cert.

Our blood drive finally ended at 7pm (OT. 2 hours)

When we were just outside the school campus,

we were informed that someone had fainted.

Jaslyn and me ran all the way to the scene.

One of the donors, who fainted at the drive,

had fainted again at a bus stop.

She was unconcious and could not answer

our questions or move.

We alearted HSA (Health Sciences Ath),

One Stop Centre, Office of Affairs.

Then we (with the help of the security buggy),

lifted her onto the buggy. She was

driven to One Stop Centre's sick bay.

We further informed her parents,

but there were alot of communication

problems as well.

Finally the parents arrived,

and the Ambulance arrived shortly after,

as they left.. I could see the shag faces of everyone.

She had been sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Hopefully she will be fine. =)

Jaslyn, Michael, Emily, Welna & myself..

we were all very tired and shag..

all the running, all the phone calls,

all the pressure, all the arguments,

all the carrying and caring for the patient.

GREAT JOB EVERYONE!!

YOU ALL SHOULD BE PROUD!!

AND PART OF RED CROSS!!

I think its also cause i helped

carry the girl and I ran alot.

My right arm vein really hurts..

Ok, I haven blogged in a long time.

Indiana Jones

---

Great movie.. although the ending

was kinda stupid? How come got aliens?

But the action and the fun of the movie

brings back childhood memories.

Ironman

---

Both very exciting and good movie.

Ironman was a little draggy

in the storyline, but i guess it was so

because the director needed to fill

in all the details so that those

who knew nothing about ironman

could understand better.

Chronicals Of Narnia

---

Feels like 300 and Lord of the Rings?

The war scenes are like Lord of the Rings,

example, the scene of the magical river

and the big wave that killed the soldiers,

also the army that was attacking the Narnians.

The soldiers also wore armor that looked like

the immortals from the movie 300.

WHAT a day.. so tiring..

I really enjoyed myself that day.

I mean the event was really tiring..

We had to run, dig, climb, swim,

get dirty, build stuff, destroy stuff,

and use our brains.. hahas..

Red Cross Camp 2008

Camp was really cool and fun

and really tiring too.

We had alot of games, exercise,

punishment, night cycling,

amazing race/treasure hunt

at east coast, evaluations,

lessons, cooking compition..

LOL
